An Application
That glowing letter at the end was written by a
pagan
king. Clearly Daniel was a great ambassador for God. It's always fun to read the stories where giants of the faith were saved by God, but in the big picture we must remember DAN 3:17-18. John the baptiser was an example where God's plan included his death, as it will when REV 13:7 comes true. Regardless of the outcome to ourselves, God still deserves our obedience. There are a ton of lessons from this chapter.
Connect the Dots
How many of the people in DAN 6:1-2 had been saved by Daniel's actions in DAN 2:24? (We'll not know until we get to heaven.) / This is all the Bible recorded about Darius I (besides DAN 9:1-2).
